* Seattle Port Commissioner Sam Cho was elected to the Port Commission in 2019 and Commission President in 2023. He was the youngest and first person of color to be elected as Commission President since the founding of the Port in1911. His priorities include creating economic opportunity, promoting environmental sustainability, equity and inclusion.

*Stephanie Johnson-Toliver, President, Black Heritage Society of Washington State and she is a fourth-generation Seattleite. Her grandparents migrated to Seattle from Louisiana and Arkansas. The organization is committed to the acquisition, preservation, and sharing of archived collections relating to the history and legacy of Black people across Washington State.

*Hayward Evans, Co Convener, Seattle King County MLK Commemoration/Continuation Committee (MLKCC) comments on the organization's "Day of Remembrance" on April 4, the 57th Anniversary of the Assassination of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The program will be held at Seattle's Holgate Street Church of Christ, Minister Jimmy Hurd is pastor.

*John Houston is fighting to save his family's legacy after their home and land were taken by the Renton WA School district by eminent domain six decades ago to build a middle school that was never built. The Renton School District sold the Houston property to a private developer. Washington State Senator Bob Hasegawa is sponsoring legislation to have the Houston family compensated.
