Second Print Comics Podcast

In this edition of SPC Reissued, Marc and Remso take a look back at the debut of a character many have recently met for the first time in "Across the Spiderverse", Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099! They crack open Spider-Man 2099 # 1 from 1994, written by the great Peter David, with pencils by Rick Leonardi. How did this issue serve to set up not only Miguel O'Hara's origin, but the launch of the still-canon Marvel 2099 Universe!

In this edition of SPC Pop, Marc and Remso delve through what's on their mind in the comics universe with plenty of sidetracks and rants along the way for good measure! Marc describes the wild and zany romp through the multiverse in Batman #135 / Legal #900 from Chip Zdarsky and Remso gives his hot take on the cancellation of the current "woke" Captain America book. They look at a little hidden drama Marc uncovered lurking in a Facebook group between Erik Larsen and Rob Liefled, and touch on a couple more heartfelt items.

In this week's edition of SPC Reissued, Marc and Remso look at a sampling of Marvel's relatively well-received Star Wars content with Star Wars_ Age of the Republic - Darth Maul #1. What's a Darth Maul to do as he seeks approval from the Darth Sidious while simultaneously pursuing his own mission hunting Jedis. Along the way, he has a psychedelic experience as a Jedi battling a Rancor. Yes really. Marc and Remso discuss why cinematic properties seems to be the one area Marvel has excelled at, and why characters like Darth Maul and Dr. Aphra have thrived in the Star Wars - Marvel comic book universe.

In this week's SPC Pop, Marc and Remso preview and make predictions for next year's forthcoming "Daredevil: Born Again" coming to Disney Plus. Can Disney recapture the spirit of the Netflix Daredevil show, in a final grasp to lay claim to the regular fan who just wants good, comic accurate stories? Or will they triple down on woke virtue signaling and continue the spiraling death of Marvel and the MCU?
