“Maximum Carnage” was an epic 14-part 1993 crossover in which Spider-Man and “anti-hero” Venom, along with various other superheroes, team up to take on Venom’s murderous spawn, Carnage, who forms his own band of villains to wreak havoc on New York City. This storyline became so much more, as it achieved huge sales numbers for Marvel Comics and became a pop-culture phenomenon, even inspiring a video game and theme park attraction. In todays Second Print Comics Podcast, Marc leads Remso through this epic event, as they look at the good, the bad and the....never ending stream of B and C list characters in our breakdown of "Maximum Carnage!" As Marc and Remso are on a hiatus, we present to you another SPC Classic! This one originally aired as episode #13 and features the debut of Marc's god-awful Alan Moore impression!

Spooktober continues as Marc and Remso look at one of Marc’s favorite comic book runs of all-time, Alan Moore’s Saga of the Swamp Thing! They break down Moore’s unique retconning of the character’s origin story, while simultaneously leaving the entire continuity of the character in tact. They discuss the portrayal of the Swamp Thing character in various mediums including the recent DC Universe Show and the modern comic books. Along the way, they look at characters like The Floronic Man, the Creepy Matt Cable, Etrigan and dabble in some really really bad Alan Moore impressions. Enjoy this deep dive into one of the most unique character origins of all time!
