Good work, you have made progress toward your goal, you have reached your preplanned pit stop. In retrospect, this is a great opportunity to evaluate how far you have come, analyse what you have accomplished and what you have achieved so far. Taking time out to reward yourself is an opportunity to appreciate the sacrifices and hard work you have made to get to the pit stop. Your self-esteem and self-confidence are greatly impacted as a result, and you will find that reaffirming your commitment to your goal will make you more likely to succeed.
When you drive at top speed in an F1 race, your engine is under stress, your tires are burning out, and your windshield needs wiping. What do you do? You take the Pit Stop and fix those problems, recalibrate, then zoom on toward your destination. As with an F1 race, for you to reach your goal, plan those Pit Stops. In our fourth process of P.D.I.P.R., we talk about how to plan for those Pit Stops, whether they're planned or not.
As you have defined your Chief Definite Aim, it is time to identify and pack the right skills and knowledge for your Second Step. In this third phase of our P.D.I.P.R. plan, we discuss "I", which is to identify your necessary skills and knowledge and how to acquire them.
The "D" stands for Definite Chief Aim. This is the second process in the P.D.I.P.R. plan. Even if you have decided to Pack- Up (the first process of the P.D.I.P.R. plan), it is still critical that you use this process to understand what your goals or aims are. Likewise, if you have decided to Pack-Up your inhibitions, doubts, or ridicule, then this process is still very crucial.
Great! you have decided to take the Second Step. But before you do, you should Pack-Up!!!
We give you the P.D.I.P.R. the five thinking processes you need to follow before taking your Second Step towards your goal.
