The boys are back at it, again, for a Wednesday edition of The Secondary Lead. The NBA continues to be a hot button topic as free agency nears. A new champion has been crowned in the NHL. The highly touted nephew of a couple of Hall of Fame QBs has picked where he will be playing football next. And is one MLB All-Star having buyer’s remorse on the team he chose to leave? The boys are back at it again for this Wednesday edition, minus Beau, and immediately start reminiscing about old memories. But once they pull the wagon back on the trail the sports talk begins. In the NFL, arguably the greatest tight end ever is announcing his second retirement. We head back on the ice to give an update and our game picks for the Stanley Cup Finals. Also, some NHL awards were handed out. We tried our best to pronounce the names correctly. Even though the NBA season ended last week, the offseason is already beginning to heat up. Two All-Stars may be getting new homes here soon. Finally, we wrap up with baseball talk because we are entering those ‘Dog Days of Summer’. So after a quick Creed mention, we go right into the NBA Finals. After breaking down the series thus far (and Weber changing his shorts), we move to the NFL for a BIG free agent signing. Then we move over to the ice for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The West is already locked up and spoken for, and the teams in the East are battling it out. We give our picks, Walk-Back Weber makes an appearance, and Travis lets him hear him for it. After that, we wrap up with some more baseball news. The boys are back on a beautiful Sunday morning, kicking off with some golf talk. No, not the PGA, but our terrible golf games. Then we move into some actual news, starting with the NBA Finals. Game 1 is done, and Game 2 is tonight, with the Celtics up 1-0. Then we go to the NFL to some players retiring who have been in the league since the players wore leather helmets. Okay maybe not that long, but it's definitely an end of an era. Then we move over to the ice, and Travis is PUMPED about his boy IGOR. And the Avs have just about punched their ticket to the final. So after discussing that, we move over to the baseball diamond. We have a manager firing, a contract extension, and a trade request. Hitting all the bases today! WE'RE BACK! After a Sunday off? News to Beau lol. ANYWAY, we're back and we take some time and talk about our Memorial Day weekends, including a review of the Bob's Burgers Movie. Then we get back on track of sports, starting with The Finals (What a lame name). We give our series picks and then discuss some news in the NBA. After that we shift to the ice and the Conferences Finals are set and happening, so we give our picks for these series before we move to baseball. A lot of drama in the MLB right now. After roll call, we're all here for today's episode. We discuss our weekends and after going off the rails (who saw that coming) we jump to sports. The NFL is trying to finally change the Pro Bowl. Then we hop to playoffs. The NBA will soon have it's Championship match up. We go over the games that were played and give our best guess of the what the match up will end up being. After accusing Weber of having the box score open to rattle off all the stats, we move to the NHL, who will soon have it's Conference Championship match ups. Beau also sheds some light on a controversial topic within the Colorado-St. Louis series. After we wrap that up, its time for baseball. We got a douchebag getting suspended for a game, a superstar betting on himself to get paid in free agency, and an injury-ridden pitching rotation trying to replace some big names with other big names! If you can name a 3 or more players on Weber's hate list, he might send you a signed, framed picture of his list! It's hand written, scribbled on a bar napkin and hard to read, but it's legit!
