The State Department this week issued a travel warning to Americans considering traveling to or already in the Islamic Republic of Iran. That’s because its regime is taking them hostage.

That would be the same regime the Obama administration has in recent months enriched by some $150 billion, including $400 million to free several U.S. citizens who had been seized by Iran. The only surprise is that anybody is surprised that the mullahs are coming back for more – more American hostages, more American ransoms.

If putting a price on the head of every U.S. citizen were the only palpable failure of President Obama’s dealings with the Islamic supremacists in Tehran, it would be bad enough. But, their work on acquiring nuclear weapons proceeds apace – now underwritten by us. And their jihadist operations are intensifying, including in our own hemisphere.

This amounts to treason.

Yesterday in Los Angeles, European and American freedom fighters met to raise an alarm about the dire threat Western civilization faces from Islamic supremacism. Convened by the American Freedom Alliance and featuring a powerful keynote address by Ambassador John Bolton, this conference made clear that Europe is already submitting to Sharia. And we are in the advanced stages of doing so, as well.

The canary-in-the-mineshaft is the state of freedom of expression. European participants warned that, thanks to essentially unchecked Muslim immigration and decades of multiculturalism, secularism and transnationalism, they and other opponents of Sharia are being prosecuted for speaking truthfully about its incompatibility with liberty.

For an American audience, the message was clear: Will we here continue going down the same road? Or will we choose to thwart those enemies, foreign and domestic, seeking our submission?

What

a difference it makes when the media does what it is supposed to in our

constitutional republic! A free press is supposed to hold officials

accountable.  Tragically, that mostly

hasn’t happened during the Obama years. 

In

recent days, however, the Wall Street

Journal revealed that the Obama administration paid a $400 million ransom

to the jihadist Iranian government for several American hostages. President

Obama and his flacks insisted no such thing had happened. 

Well,

yesterday, the Journal published the

details of the carefully synchronized transaction that resulted in the release

of the Americans as pallets of cash were turned over to the Iranian

Revolutionary Guard Corps – the mullahs’ terrorism arm. 

The

State Department’s spokesman finally confirmed the obvious: Team Obama did pay ransom. 

It’s

bad enough that we have been repeatedly lied to. Worse yet, we are all now

potential hostages.

President

Obama’s wrecking operation aimed at diminishing our country, emboldening its

enemies and undermining its friends is moving inexorably forward on a front unknown

to most Americans – yet, likely to affect many of them personally.

Team

Obama is determined to end America’s effective control over internet domain

names.  By relinquishing to the likes of Russia,

China and Iran the management of ICANN – a bureaucratic mechanism that assigns

what amount to website addresses – U.S. government agencies, other users and

internet freedom are sure to suffer.

Just

one example: If hostile powers can begin assigning to themselves or their

friends America’s official government and military – “.gov” and “.mil” – domain

names, at a minimum, confusion will ensue. 

More likely, there will be compromises of national security.

It’s

currently against the law to surrender ICANN. Congress must not allow the

President to betray his duty, again.

Earlier

this week, Donald Trump warned that the United States could not defeat the

threat posed by Radical Islam “with closed eyes, or silenced voices.”  Our enemies understand that reality,

too.  It turns out they are getting a lot

of help in blinding and silencing us.

In

particular, leaked documents from George Soros’ philanthropies show the radical

leftist billionaire has been paying vast sums to various organizations to wage

what amounts to political warfare by suppressing American patriots impeding

efforts to: insinuate Sharia into this country; sell the dangerous nuclear deal

with Iran; and bring here large numbers of potential jihadists.

As

it happens, I am among those targeted by this operation to be “marginalized” in

the “mainstream media” and elsewhere.  It

adds insult to injury that George Soros gets tax-deductions for so-called “charitable

contributions” aimed at mutating and undermining our country.

Yesterday,

Donald Trump delivered the best speech of his campaign to date.  Newt Gingrich rightly called it the most

important since Ronald Reagan left office. 

In

fact, in many ways, it was Reaganesque in its clarity about today’s existential

threat to freedom – what Trump calls “Radical Islam” – and his prescription for

securing the sort of victory over it that President Reagan achieved over the

last such threat: Soviet communism.

Mr.

Trump called for a comprehensive strategy aimed at protecting us against the

hateful ideology Islamic supremacists call Sharia.  Those who do not share our values and seek to

supplant our Constitution with Sharia would not be welcome here. And he would

roll-up the networks in this country that support Islamist radicalization.

The

stage is now set for the sort of national debate – and choice – that is long

overdue and absolutely necessary.

In

his last days in office, President Obama reportedly wants to get the UN’s

Security Council to endorse a ban on underground nuclear testing. It would be a

two-fer for Mr. Obama.

First,

he evidently hopes to encumber his successor from taking steps needed to

modernize America’s deterrent.  And

second, he intends once again to undermine the Constitution with its

requirement that the U.S. Senate advise and consent to treaties like the

Comprehensive Test Ban. 

But,

the Senate voted to reject that treaty seventeen years ago – for good

reason.  And today’s Washington Free Beacon describes multi-billion dollar investments

the Kremlin is making in preparing for nuclear war by both comprehensively

upgrading Russia’s arsenal and the underground bunkers from which its use would

be directed.

We

need a national debate about how best to end our unilateral nuclear

disarmament, not more of it.

Hillary

Clinton and Donald Trump don’t agree on much but they seem aligned against the

Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP.  Mrs.

Clinton said yesterday “I oppose it now, I’ll oppose it after the election and

I’ll oppose it as president.”

If

Hillary actually means it, what is probably most important about that campaign

pledge – and what should be said by Mr. Trump, as well – is that President

Obama’s current plan to ram this sovereignty-sapping and poorly negotiated

trade agreement through the Congress during its post-election lame-duck session

ain’t gonna happen.

But

it certainly can.  The President will

have allies in Speaker Paul Ryan and a number of GOP Senators who won’t be

returning next year and want to improve their post-government prospects by

endearing themselves to the business interests behind TPP.

Clinton

and Trump need to insist that Obama withdraw

the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Senator

Jeff Sessions just pulled back the curtain on yet-another ominous Obama

legacy.  According to Alabama’s senior

senator, the President is willfully blind to the threat to public safety posed

by tens of thousands of “refugees” and other immigrants from nations with

traditions of Islamic supremacism.

As Senator Sessions put it

yesterday, “Despite a clear nexus between immigration and terrorism, and

warnings from top officials in his own Administration about their inability to

properly vet refugees, President Obama remains in denial about the dangers that

his policies pose to the United States.”

So far this year, Team Obama has

brought in over 60,000 from such hotbeds of jihadism as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan,

Iran and Somalia. At least forty of those admitted since 9/11 have been tied to

terrorism.

We need to stop importing

jihadists.  There surely are too many

here already.

Like

a bad penny, the Clockboy has turned up again. 

Teenager Ahmed Mohamed became an international celebrity last year when

he, his family and other Islamic supremacists pulled off what can only be

described as an act of political warfare in Irving, Texas.  

The

incident was precipitated when young Ahmed brought to school a so-called

“invention” that looked a lot like a timing-device for a bomb. 

When

he refused to answer questions about it from administrators and police, public

safety protocols were followed and, predictably, he was briefly taken into

custody – and turned into a victim for Islamists and their leftist enablers who

have targeted the Mayor of Irving, Beth Van Duyne, for standing up to the

Islamic supremacists’ agenda.

Now,

the Clockboy is suing the school.  The

City of Irving must fight this political warfare, not capitulate to it.
