  • 104 | 99 Short Films: ADHD Medication Straight Answers Series

Rick Green, from Totally ADD, shares his awesome video series which gives ADHD medication straight answers. After watching the 99 short films which, in combination, make up the video series, ADHD Medication: Big Questions Straight Answers, you’ll feel like an expert. At least you’ll be well equipped to have an intelligent discussion with friends, family and doctors!

Because, after all, an expert is someone who knows virtually everything there is to know on a subject, right?

How Rick came to know SO much about all things ADHD is a fun story that he goes more into on episode 05, I’m on Your Side, ADHD in Relationships.

But today we focus our conversation on some ADHD medication straight answers to really big questions.

    Rick’s Awesome Quote:

“It can do miraculous things but it’s never enough on its own.”

    ADHD Medication Straight Answers Series

Rick likens unmanaged ADHD to a tilted playing field, where you are the one always struggling uphill. ADHD medication is but one tool that can level that field, helping you win in the game of life.

One area, he explains, where ADHD medication can make a difference, is in dealing with the boring stuff, like organizing or washing dishes. As he says, “You don’t want to have to invent a new way to wash the dishes every day.” Being able to better focus allows you to get to doing what you want to do instead.

  • 103 | ADHD Distraction Versus Derailment With The ADD Couple

What is the difference between ADHD distraction versus derailment? Upon first blush, they may seem like the same thing.

Listen, as my partner in crime, Brett Thornhill, and I talk it out on The ADD Couple podcast. Check us out on iTunes!

He joins me in discussing everything through the ADHD lens on that show. So, again, I'm sharing this episode about distraction versus derailment with you and hope you'll enjoy it and subscribe to both podcasts: The ADD Couple and See in ADHD.

    Awesome Quote:

“Derailment is something that we tend to internalize a little bit.”

    ADHD Distraction Versus Derailment

You know when something "comes up" and before you know it you aren't doing what you had, at some point, intended to do?

This can be something, like missing a day of work. Maybe your doctor's appointment ran late and then you stopped off to pick up prescriptions. Next thing you know, you figure you're better off just starting over tomorrow.

Your day just went off the rails. But was that because of distraction or derailment?

  • 102 | Q & A With Podcaster And ADHD Blogger Tom Nardone

ADHD blogger and podcaster, Tom Nardone, with his wife, Yvonne, are some of my favorite people. Checkout their podcast, The Tom Nardone Show.

I’ve had Tom and his wife on before, see episode 90.

And, in my 100th episode, he came on as my first guest. He’s responsible for the amazing opening soundtrack that was way over the top, but totally awesome!

I asked listeners to write in questions for him to answer, and he was happy to oblige.

The only problem was that I had to edit a lot out to keep the show, overall, closer to an hour.

So, here’s your chance to hear the whole unedited version of Tom’s segment.

    ADHD Blogger

Tom wasn’t always a podcaster. In fact, he first rose to fame as an ADHD blogger.

Here’s an excerpt from, I am Tom Nardone, and I am ADD.

“I have spoken to a lot of parents, who have children with ADD. They all have at least one thing in common; they all care about their children. I categorize them into two groups; those that medicate, and those who do not medicate. I fully agree with those who medicate, and I understand the skepticism for those that don’t.

I am Tom Nardone. When I was growing up I can remember back to some of the things that were done or said to me as a result of being ADD. I had a real hard time understanding simple instructions, because I could not quiet my own mind long enough to listen when they were given.”

He’s also such a good writer he’s written a book, Chasing Kites. I recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic account of growing up with undiagnosed ADHD.

Please leave a comment below on your thoughts of the show.
