"You know, brethren, that a very large ship is benefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves. Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed." Doctrine and Covenants 123: 16 & 17
Jarom received his mission call in the summer of 2018 to Detroit Michigan. After arriving in Detroit in October, Jarom returned home to grow closer to the Savior through repentance. After 4 months at home, he returned to finish his mission. He learned the importance of serving God and showing his love for God through obedience. Join me as Jarom shares wonderful insights he had in preparation for his mission and becoming closer to Jesus Christ throughout his return home and remaining mission.
Repentance
"The Greek word of which this is the translation denotes a change of mind, a fresh view about God, about oneself, and about the world. Since we are born into conditions of mortality, repentance comes to mean a turning of the heart and will to God, and a renunciation of sin to which we are naturally inclined. Without this there can be no progress in the things of the soul’s salvation, for all accountable persons are stained by sin and must be cleansed in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. Repentance is not optional for salvation; it is a commandment of God" King James Version of the Bible, Bible Dictionary
