2022 was filled with astounding performances by both male seiyuu artists and 2D groups. The production quality has risen a whole lot to the point that almost all songs you come across will sound near perfect.

Seiyuu are taking singing incredibly seriously, some of them being insanely innovative doing things no other seiyuu artist has done.

Some 2D groups have a defined, robust identity that they are proud of and we, as fans, are seeing them grow before our eyes (and ears).

While being signed to a big talent agency is both an accomplishment and an opening of the doors to a career that can, potentially, be a really good one, there are other options for seiyuu when it comes to management.

Smaller or independent talent agencies can provide a more balanced management experience and, at times, are the solution to the low pay that seiyuu get when signed by big talent agencies.

Being represented by a talent agency can open doors for seiyuu, especially early down in their career. And throughout their career, being signed to a talent agency brings clout to both sides.

Regardless if seiyuu join big talent agencies or smaller agencies launched by seiyuu that were through with receiving miserable pay for their work, the truth is that there are more seiyuu signed to talent agencies than freelance.
