Making a solo debut is a massive gamble for seiyuu. And that's because there is no “perfect” formula to be successful as a solo artist. However, when you analyze some of the most recent successful solo artists, you start noticing some elements that repeat themselves a little bit across those. That's what you and I will cover in this episode.

KATARI, duo comprised of popular seiyuu Shinichiro Kamio and DJ Takehiro Mamiya, has been doing something unique in the music industry in Japan. Up until 2019, seiyuu had to wait an average of 7 years before making a solo debut. In the last couple of years, however, a trend of rushing solo debuts has been taking over.

That trend raises a question: "Should seiyuu wait for the right time to make a solo debut or risk it all and rush their debuts?"
