Self-Help under the Scope

I did a juice cleanse for 3 days and then realised, why am I doing this? At times, self-help sells us the disease and the cure. It makes us feel inadequate and overcomplicates our lives. We're not broken, we're human. We will be imperfect and messy, but that doesn't always mean we have to put ourselves through EVERY "guru's" way to living your best life.

Self-justification, which is where we use age at times, is below consciousness. As a platform that aims to raise consciousness, things like cognitive dissonance and lack of accountability don't really match up. I'm discussing where it is ok, its ok to make mistakes, but where exactly does it turn into avoidance!?

The truth is, today you don't have to go to work for someone else and join the rat race to make money. Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" is an exemplar book on this statement. It's a motivational book where Kiyosaki debunks and demeans the traditional attitudes to money through working harder to get a better job to be able to save money. From this, this episode extrapolates that financial Intelligence is pretty critical for any individual, given we don't learn about it in school. In summation, read the damn book if you haven't already. This book is gold.

Today I felt obligated to discuss that you are enough. Often when we are improving ourselves, we forget to love that stage that we are at. I know that it's hard to balance appreciating yourself and striving for better so we need to be deliberate about knowing our worth. In order for me to continue to elevate this collective, I wanted to ensure we all know that we are enough. So that's what I decided to do before we take it to the next level.

A movement is something we can observe, take part in or even subconsciously start being a part of - but do we truly know what these movements mean? Today I'm extrapolating what I've found to be valuable in the current wave of being a Minimalist and what Minimalism means. This episode was catalysed by the Less is Now Documentary on Netflix by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus.
