Brothers Ken and Larry Barthuly founded Barthuly Irrigation, Inc. in 1992 with a shared passion for outdoor work, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service. What began as small irrigation projects during their college years quickly evolved into a full-time business built on integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

Ken’s hands-on experience maintaining irrigation systems in New Hampshire and Larry’s background in insurance and process management helped shape the company’s focus on efficiency and professionalism. Over the years, they’ve grown Barthuly Irrigation into a trusted leader in the industry, employing more than 60 team members while maintaining the same values they started with, quality work, dependable service, and a commitment to people.

Kevin Hunt began his career at Shiel Sexton in 1989 as a summer field laborer. He earned a degree from Purdue University and went on to work in a number of departments within the firm including estimating, project management, business development preconstruction and operations. Kevin was promoted to the executive group of Shiel Sexton before the age of 35. He has been instrumental in developing new markets and new clients throughout his career. As CEO and president, Kevin is responsible for the management of operations, implementation of corporate strategies, presiding over the Shiel Sexton family of companies including:

Kevin has taken an active leadership role in numerous company initiatives including the development and implementation of Shiel Sexton’s group focused business model, restructuring of the company’s safety and quality programs, and the transition to 100% employee-ownership through the establishment of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Kevin is a key element in making certain Shiel Sexton grows responsibly and ethically in an extremely competitive marketplace.

Kevin and his wife, Kristen, live in Indianapolis and have three adult children, a daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and one friendly Goldendoodle named Tripp. Kevin enjoys being involved in various sports through coaching, participating, and as a spectator.

LevelUp was started in March 2021. Both partners came from industries outside of home services: medical technology and enterprise technology. Our backgrounds in market development, sales, and sales leadership were helpful in starting out, but we were extremely fortunate to have a manufacturing partner that helped us and our team learn the technical aspects of the business.

We also have several key team members who have been with us from day one, which has been critical to our success. Since starting the business, our incredible team has helped thousands of Indiana homeowners and business owners restore safety and function to their concrete, and after almost 5 years, we feel like we are just getting started. As a team, we continue to focus on creating trust, communicating with transparency, and delivering great results. As simple as that sounds, we believe that is our greatest differentiator.

Courtney was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, and later attended Butler University with her twin sister, Abby. She met her husband, Derek, at Butler and together they began their journey - living abroad in Germany from 2012 to 2013 and getting married that same year. Today, they're raising three wonderful kids, ages 10, 7, and almost 3.

After college, Courtney spent seven years working in marketing for tech companies. In 2019, after three years planning, Courtney & Derek, along with her sister and brother-in-law (Abby and Ryan) opened the first phase of their microbrewery on Indy’s Near Northwest side. In 2021, they expanded into their current HQ on the same property, with a brewery, taproom, beer garden, kitchen, and three unique event spaces.

In 2024, they added The Coffee Haus and a second taproom in South Broad Ripple, further growing their community-driven mission. Courtney focuses on marketing, sales, and the many hats that come with being an owner and mom.

Luke Walter was raised and born in Northern Indiana near Notre Dame university. Currently is still single and very focused on his career, but looking for a life partner to grow and expand with. He comes from a large family who is heavy in business in many different industries. Giving Luke an expanded inside knowledge of different industries cross comparing to what works best in the Piano Industry. He is currently 28 years old and has worked in every aspect of the Piano industry.

From sales, restoration, manufacturing, design, and piano moving he has worked in all of these divisions and even led the charge in most. He is a very motivated starter/action taker who is a calculated team creator understanding what his primary skills are, but also what he lacks in and is very honest about what those are. Passionate about surrounding himself with people who are better than him in skills needed to grow and succeed past what he could do alone.

Currently he is leading the charge on the international growth of Walter Piano Group and taking the marketing to the next level along with managing the manufacturing and licensing deals. He is also currently the lead on retail, restoration, manufacturing sales. Luke along with the piano industry has knowledge in construction from property flips from side projects residentially and commercially.

John Nunemaker was born and raised in Burr Oak, Michigan and now lives in South Bend, Indiana with his high school sweetheart, Stephanie, and their two kids, Max and Lila. He began his career at the University of Notre Dame before stepping into the world of software and entrepreneurship in 2008.

Not long after, the company he co-founded was acquired by GitHub as their first acquisition, where John spent the next seven years helping scale one of the most important developer platforms in the world.

Today, John is the owner of several SaaS companies. He runs https://fireside.fm, a podcast hosting and analytics platform used by creators around the globe, Box Out Sports, which helps schools and colleges promote their athletic programs through custom graphics, and Flipper Cloud, a feature-flagging service that enables teams to safely release software. He is also part of the team behind Momentum Entrepreneurship Hub in South Bend, which provides coworking space, offices and resources for local founders.

When he’s not shipping code or growing companies, John can usually be found with his wife and kids, keeping the balance between building software and building memories.

Davis Uphoff was born in Vincennes, Indiana and raised in Mount Carmel, Illinois. Recently married to his wife Lexi, Davis began his career in the crane industry at just 19 years old when he earned his first crane certification and went to work at the local power plant in Owensville, Indiana. After gaining early experience, he hit the road working as a crane operator at power plants and large construction projects across the country.

When it came time to recertify his credentials, Davis expanded his qualifications by earning advanced certifications such as NCCCO Rigger Level II and Lift Director. After completing his Lift Director training, his instructor, Luke, offered him a role overseeing crane and rigging operations on a major hospital expansion in Indianapolis. It was on that project that Davis and Luke recognized their shared vision, leading them to co-found Crane Industry Experts in 2019.

Based in Indianapolis, Crane Industry Experts provides NCCCO certified Lift Directors, crane operators, riggers, and signalpersons to jobsites nationwide. The company partners with some of the largest general contractors in the country to oversee all crane and rigging operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency on complex projects. CIE works across industries including construction, power generation, refineries, data centers, and healthcare facilities . Their mission is simple but critical: to keep every jobsite safe and sound when it comes to cranes and rigging.

Today, Davis continues to build Crane Industry Experts into a trusted national partner for contractors who understand the importance of dedicated crane and rigging oversight. With a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and results, CIE is raising the standard of safety on projects across the United States.

Thomas Haun has been married to his amazing wife Michele for 16 years. They have two kiddos: Thomas (10) and Anna (8). Thomas is the President of Turner Staffing Group. He has held leadership roles across human capital, operations, sales, marketing, strategy, and finance. Before founding Turner Staffing Group, Thomas was the Chief Operating Officer of Turner Mining Group. Previously, Thomas led business teams for PrecisionHawk, DuPont, and Northrop Grumman. Thomas holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland.

Jason has been in the remodeling industry since high school and began as a general laborer and carpenter’s helper. In 2000 after graduating college, he had the opportunity to transition from the field into the office and began working with sales and design departments to produce project specifications and job costing.

Along with providing support to produce projects, Jason is the President of the company and oversees all marketing efforts. Being active in the industry is important to Jason. He is the current co-chair of the Remodelers Impact Group and is a former President of the The Remodelor’s Council board of the Builder’s Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI) and is also active in the Indiana Chapter of NARI, or The National Association of the Remodeling Indiustry. In 2012, he was awarded “Forty under 40” by Professional Remodeler magazine. Most recently, Jason was nominated the 2016 Remodeler of the Year by the Builder’s Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI).

When asked about what he finds enjoyable about the remodeling industry, Jason replies,

“I like the seeing the whole process take shape. From initial consultation and through design and selections and then the finished product, we have been lucky to have a great cast of people to help make our client’s dreams a reality.”

Away from work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and kids hiking and camping and playing ice hockey with his father and brothers. Jason is also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
