On this episode we go deep into the past of my good friend Skido (@skimaguire). As a Producer/Industry Consultant, he has had his hand in many different creative projects in the industry over the years. Some of his relationships include Universal Music, Roc Nation, and Interscope Records to name a few. I call him the ultimate "Dot Connecter" because he really knows the importance of relationships, how to harbor them and how they can make or break you in any genre.
We talk about his past and the tough circumstances he was born into. Drug addicted mother who had him at 14, did the best she could to protect him and show him love in the only way she knew how. But his true family, the city of Yonkers, NY, were there to protect, teach, love, and ultimately raise him.
He opens up and tells me a very detailed version of his life and how he was able to survive, and make a way from nothing, and how God truly saved him and showed him his purpose.
I wont lie, this episode gets very real and intense talking about some harsh realities of living in Yonkers New York during that time period.
But nonetheless, he has such an inspirational story, it has to be told.
Most people probably wouldn't have survived what he did. In all aspects, Mentally, emotionally, physically, but he did!
Just goes to show you god has a purpose for everyone, just need to be open to it and let him guide you.
And most importantly, never give up. NEVER.
