There is a large emphasis on aircrew (i.e. pilots, flight attendants, and so forth) performance, error, and medication use.  For aircraft mechanics and ground technicians however, these lines are blurred, almost flagrantly ignored for the sake of continuous operations.  When is it ok to self-medicate, what are some alternatives, and when would it pose a problem?
