  • Love Much? Learning Hospitality at the Feet of Jesus
How well do you love? In this plenary address from the 2026 Center for Missions & Evangelism Conference, John Bouwers, pastor in Brampton, Ontario, takes us to Luke 7 and the home of Simon the Pharisee, where Jesus turns the question of hospitality back on his host. Bouwers doesn't wag a finger or demand better evangelism. Instead, he argues that the only way we will love our neighbors more is by being filled with awe at how much we have been loved. Working through the scene in three movements, he considers love examined by the gospel, love experienced through the gospel, and love extravagantly expressed for the sake of the gospel. He also shares what has helped his own small congregation grow in hospitality, from church barbecues and neighborhood conversation cafés to the simple practice of opening your home and your Bible at the table. And he offers a word of freedom to anyone who thinks hospitality has to be polished: it doesn't have to be fancy, and it is sometimes the messy homes that God uses most. • 322. Is Your Job Christian? Rethinking Faith and Culture
Can your job as a plumber, your Monday to Friday at the office, or your Saturday grocery run be an act of worship, or is "Christian living" really just a Sunday thing? In this opening episode of a three-part series, Dr. Marcus Mininger unpacks two impulses every believer feels but rarely reconciles: the belief that Christ changes everything, and the assurance that even if we lose everything, his victory stands unshaken. Drawing on Colossians and a lifetime of watching Reformed Christians debate culture (from social gospel enthusiasm to monastic withdrawal to today's two-kingdoms debates), Mininger makes the case that both impulses are biblical, and that getting the balance wrong has real consequences for how we live.

  • Devo 109: Joshua's Blessing
The devotional emphasizes that true blessing from God is not automatic but follows a divine conditionality rooted in faithful obedience. It highlights seven essential prerequisites—careful observation of God's commandments, heartfelt love for the Lord, walking in His ways, keeping His laws, clinging to Him alone, and serving Him with wholehearted devotion—as the foundation upon which divine blessing is built. The message underscores that blessings bring lasting prosperity while disobedience leads to long-term consequences, warning that God will not bless those with hardened hearts or divided loyalties. The preacher calls the audience to self-examination, urging them to align their lives with these spiritual disciplines before seeking blessing. Ultimately, the sermon presents a call to intentional discipleship, where blessing flows naturally from a life surrendered to God's will.
