If you have ever felt like you needed to step away from social media, but felt teathered to it at the same time then this episode might be for you. I’ve been online for about 20 years, and what started as online community, evolved into social (or anti-social) media. 

This is a deeply personal episode, as I share my choice to take the summer and possibly autumn off from all platforms. After making this choice I had a profound experience, I guess you could call it a mystical purge, my body gave way to some unusual symptoms, which also linked up with it being a new moon. The timing of this was very odd, but the next day I felt like there had been a shift. A layer of the cord had been cut, my need for wanting to check social media in the way I had before, had dissipated overnight. There was a lighter feeling after this, freedom. 

With the rise of AI-generated content, particularly that which is replacing art, feels like it is steeling part of our souls as creative beings. Taking this step back feels like a must to be able to move forward in this world.

If you have ever felt yourself getting obsessed with the insights of a vulnerable post you have just shared, then you are not alone. Now days we live in a time where it seems we are all putting our most sacred entries to our secret diaries online, no wonder we are paranoid about likes and comments!

I share my own personal experiences on how my relationship to my creative expression has been altered by sharing it online. Particularly as I remember a time during adulthood where sharing online wasn’t even an option. 

When we create our art for being content to meet the demand of the algorithm something changes, the flow state doesn’t always come, our intention for why we pursued our passion in the first place gets put by the wayside. The thoughts of; will I get likes, I hope the comments are friendly, will this get shown to my followers, all this starts to creep in.

 Our need in modern day life for external validation, is taking us further from the truth of ourselves, I for one, am committed to keeping my truth alive, throughout all my interactions. 
 
To remember the ripple effect is everything to me, if what I create reaches just one person, then sharing it has been worthwhile. Your magic, and mine, doesn't need massive recognition to matter.

The disconnect between what our bodies need and what our food culture promotes has never been more profound. Today's journey explores the hidden conditioning that shapes our relationship with food and the surprising ways it impacts our health.

Have you ever noticed how food packaging boldly highlights natural allergens like eggs and milk while completely normalizing chemical additives? This subtle yet powerful messaging trains us to fear whole foods while accepting lab-created ingredients without question. Meanwhile, government guidelines promote ultra-processed cereals over nutrient-dense eggs, creating deep confusion about what truly constitutes nourishment.

The simple practice of intermittent fasting reveals one of our body's most remarkable abilities – self-healing. By extending the overnight period without food to 16 hours, we allow our systems to shift energy from constant digestion to vital repair work. Many listeners have shared profound healing experiences simply by creating this digestive breathing room, contradicting the conventional wisdom that we need three meals plus snacks daily.

Particularly troubling is the resurgence of "Y2K body" ideals – the dangerously thin aesthetic that dominated the early 2000s when public figure Victoria Beckham was weighed on television and models with visible bones were still considered "too fat." Those who grew up during this era continue struggling with body image distortions, yet this harmful standard is being glamorized for a new generation. Rather than chasing these arbitrary ideals, we need to reconnect with what makes each of our unique bodies thrive.

As we've moved further from growing, raising and cooking our own food, we've lost touch with fundamental nutrition. Processed foods enable us to consume more while receiving less actual nourishment, leaving us paradoxically overfed yet undernourished. Beginning the journey back requires conscious choices – perhaps choosing butcher-sourced meat, prioritizing whole foods, or simply becoming more mindful about how different foods make you feel.

What if the most powerful alchemy isn't turning lead into gold, but transforming your inner landscape? After reading Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist," I found myself questioning our obsession with external transformations while neglecting our internal evolution.

We celebrate before-and-after weight loss photos, home renovations, and rags-to-riches stories, but rarely discuss the profound internal shifts that truly change our lives. Our conversations stay surface-level – discussing new cars, homes, or Netflix shows – rather than exploring what brings us joy, fulfills our dreams, or nurtures our creativity. This attachment to external validation leaves us disconnected from what matters most.

The moments we miss while not being present – distracted by screens or mental to-do lists – can become our deepest regrets. I think about all the times I watched TV while my dog lay beside me, missing precious moments of connection I'll never get back. Children grow quickly, relationships evolve, and time passes whether we're paying attention or not.

A simple but powerful practice has transformed my perspective: changing "I have to" to "I get to." This works not just for mundane tasks but for soul-led desires too. Instead of "I have to sing" creating pressure, "I get to sing" creates gratitude and openness. We get to experience this beautiful, complicated life when many others no longer have that privilege.

When we ignore our soul's calling, the universe often delivers wake-up calls through unexpected challenges. My mother needed to break her hip before she was open to making a life change that ultimately brought her joy. But we don't need to wait for difficulties to motivate transformation – we can choose to evolve through joy and love.

Listen closely to your inner wisdom. What is your soul yearning for? Take the easy path of following that guidance rather than waiting for the universe to demand your attention. The true gold isn't external success but the rich, meaningful life that emerges when you dare to transform from within.
