Sequelisers

It's time to venture back into the Montague and Capulet gardens and meet Sherlock Gnomes and Dr Gnome Watson.

Yes, those are their actual names. And yes, we're fixing this film because of one of our VIPs on Patreon.

If ever there was a film that was so self-contained that it didn't need a sequel, it'd be Donnie Darko. And yet, somehow, S.Darko exists. And after we were visited by a guy in a rabbit costume, we've been charged with following our liquid spears through time to fix it.

We take a stroll through Disney's mid-2000s wilderness with the maddeningly dull Brother Bear and its confusingly horny direct-to-DVD sequel. Can we endure the overblown Canadian accents and lack of plot long enough to come up with a fix?

It's a sequel to a true classic that opened up an entire genre to new fans worldwide. And it's the biggest drop-off we've ever seen on the Tomatometer.

Guys, gals and non-binary pals, please enjoy our discussion and fixing of Ring 2 AKA Ringu 2.

Know what a middling racing film needs? A spy-centric sequel. Not convinced? Nah, few were. Least of all one of our VIPs, who has asked us to fix this busted up instalment. But in order to fix it we need to do a bit of gymnastics to factor in Cars 3. Let's slide into pole position and get to it.

Who's ready for some early-2000s cringe? Robert De Niro leans way too hard into his comedy renaissance and Ben Stiller is apparently irresistible to Latina women in this comedy hit that somehow mutated into a trilogy. Can we rescue the third entry, or is it too focking cursed?

With the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules and the stamina of Athena, we managed to not only watch the Shazam sequel all the way through, we've fixed it!

It's time to tackle 2023's most disappointing sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Oh this is going to be controversial. It's our first VIP pick of the season and we've been asked to fix Back To The Future Part III. We know some of you hate it, some of you love it, but it now holds a special place on the show as the most difficult pitch Tim has ever been tasked to write.

It's a new year, a new season, and a new bad sequel in need of fixing. But is Psycho 2 really that much of a drop off from it's iconic predecessor? And how does Psycho hold up after more than 60 years of imitation and legacy? Let's find out, as we kick off Season 13...

That's right, it's an extra special inter-season finale episode!

We're talking all about movie posters - the history, the good, the bad and everything in between.

But Jack, Matt & Tim are hardly qualified to discuss art and posters, right? So, we are finally joined by the honourary fourth Sequeliser, Mr John Scarratt, to bring his artistic knowledge and perspective.

All of the movie posters we talk about in this episode can be seen here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/94319048 (this is on our Patreon but is publicly available, don't worry)
