Sequences Magazine

Hi everyone and thanks for listening. Recently we had one fan who asked why don’t we have podcasts devoted solely to one style, be it Berlin School or space music, chill-out to New Age, if that’s your preference there are plenty of excellent mixes out there on the world wide web for a more easy listening experience. But that’s not our object, we are here to make you sit up and listen to new sounds from electronic musicians from all corners of the globe, be it melodic and rhythmical, ambient to dark wave to the more engaging mysterious experimental sounds that play mind games. The old saying “variety is the spice of life” and it’s certainly what we hope to bring in the music we select for each edition.

Mick always likes to delve into the unknown were the music is concerned which makes his work editing each podcast so exciting, you never know what’s going to turn up, enjoy

Welcome to Sequences. We are delighted to bring you another podcast flowing with so many aspects of electronic music, names who you all know with some of their latest works and few new artists to grace our airways to. These include Tankarville, melodic Jarresque music, Paul Fejko and Stuart Diamond with the awesome interplay of the 7000 plus pipes on the organ at All Saints Episcopal Church, Massachusetts, & the Lyricon wind synthesiser, ambient soundtracks from Wolves and Horses and the mesmerising ethereal sounds of Gang Violins, whose music was part of the Evoke Vastness stream bringing in the new year, described as 3 days of cosmic wonder and awe,

Mick would like to say a big thanks to all the fans and musicians who have joined our group page, getting close to 4000 members.

We leave it to Tankarville to take us on a melodic rhythmical journey with two tracks from their latest release, Unnatural By Nature on the French label Winter Alternative Records.

Welcome world, yes I mean the world, We recently looked at some of the stats from one of our six music sites Sequences is played on and in a one month period fans from over 120 countries tuned in, a really pleasant surprise to us all.

It’s another year when the outcome is uncertain, given the turmoil in the political scene from 2016, but you can be assured that we will bring you the finest music out there in the coming months. Our aim is not for easy listening but musical tastes which are eclectic, sometimes melodic and rhythmical, other times weird and experimental with a crossover too more of the modern electronics, if we feel they have something to offer to our listeners.

Here we go with our opening track from Remy’s new project Malaska, called The Disputable Beauty Of Miss V. Z, who is Miss V.Z, that is the question.

Good day listeners welcome to podcast no96, what a great lineup we have for you, with the opening track from the stunning new album by Tiger Forest getting the show on the road.

Usual suspects here with their latest projects to fill the void with some outstanding sounds. First timers include Citizen-X, composing music on ios devices, iPhones and iPads.

Norwegian Ivor Hansen, music styled on ambient and new age, Daniel Segerstad from Carbon Based Lifeforms new solo release under the name of SYNC24, veteran Spotted Peccary artists Howard Givens and Madhavi Devi, delicately traverse subtle electronic-ambient wonderlands and finally Holland Phillips music categorised as “new age,

although very varied.

Those who can’t get enough of Berlin School will find our blast from the

past to their liking, the Synco track mysterious Invention part 1 was a serious player in this field when it was released in 1990,

That’s enough from me, sit back & relax for the next three hours and immerse yourself into the music we all love.

Welcome possums to another feast of eclectic Electronic music, as diverse as ever.

Lets introduce you to our new faces on Sequences, Mythical Records introducing two female artists, Natasha who approaches a brand of experimental classical music and Melisande’s dark ambient neoclassical sounds, Hungarian Polytron, a future retro musician with his first full length album, B J M Mario Bajardi with expressive melodies and textures of orchestral richness, universe gazer Phillippe Kessler, and lastly German pianist and multi-instrumentalist Bernward Koch, lighting up the scene in New Age music over the last few decades.

New releases include Steve Roach, who adds to his vast catalog ‘Shadow of Time’ in a style reminiscence of Structures From Silence and Quiet Music, Arcane who musically mimics the self propelled nature of the ‘Automaton’ and DeeperNET exploring downtempo of electronic music, just a few to be played on this issue.

From 1979 we give you ‘In The Regions Of Sun Return’, Michael Garrison’s debut album which became a big seller in the scene, sadly we lost Michael in 2004, The album ‘To The Sky And Beyond Stars’ was published as a fitting tribute from fellow musicians after his early death.

Hold on to your seats as we have a real blast from DeeperNET’s opening track ‘Vision Quest’.
