Sequences Magazine

Hi everyone, sorry to say this will be our only show this month after our more uptempo melodic podcast in the last edition. We give you electronic music on the ambient side of the genre, with ethereal choirs, dramatic soaring spacial ambiences and dark experimental futuristic sounds, played out in this time and space. Music that can transport you to another dimension, with captivating mysterious sounds to let your imagination flow. Sit back, close your eye, as we take that journey into the unknown.

Were back, welcome everyone. It’s been over a month since our last edition but we’ve kept on top of the new releases coming in after Mick’s move to a new abode, and delighted to welcome six new acts to grace our airways. As before we set out to bring you a broad section of music, maybe not to everyone’s taste but at least we try to educate your musical preferences. Our blast from past from 30 years ago comes from the duo Megabyte, because of contractual projects at that time their real names were not revealed, but we do love their synonyms, Amanda Mega & Billy Byte.

To kick off this session, Johan Tronestam presents his latest release Space Collection, time to drop everything and immerse yourself in some tasty sounds.

Hi everyone,We’ve had a large amount of promos in this month, virtually all new releases, so we decided to break up the latest podcast no 110 into two parts, just one edition would been a lengthly listening session of over 5 hours. Mick moved to a new abode a few days ago, needs time to settle in, which means the next edition (no groans please) will probably not be aired until the later part ofJune.

Because of the number of releases here I will leave it up to you the listeners to check out the bio’s on all the musicians which can be found on our website.

Until the next time, enjoy the show.

With our first edition of May, we’ve had a fifty, fifty split between ambient & experiment and the more uptempo melodic sounds arrived on our desk this month, we were going to make this podcast in two halves, but decided to mix the two together giving you light and shade variations over the three hours.

If there is any thoughts on this do let us have your comments,

On the list we have the latest releases from Ian Boddy & Markus Reuter, Vanderson, Syndromeda, Robert Rich & Markus Reuter, Baltes & Erbe and Romerium, with one track from Lomita, Jaja, Mindphaser, C J Rogers and David Parsons last album Puja, which we managed to get hold of, Mick’s a great fan of his music.

Some names not familiar to us here, include Arovane & Porya Hatami, Carlo Celuque, Natural Life Essence & Threadbare, with a mixture of Berlin School, dark & experimental ambient excursions to Chill-out sound.

With the release of Steve Jolliffe’s new autobiography, including a copy of Cyclone, plus a short unreleased track from Tangerine Dream from 1967, Steve’s brief association with the group in Berlin, with just Edgar Froese & Klaus Schulze, we’ve included the track Bent Side Coldwalk from that album, Steve was a major influence on that release, the first one with vocals which split the fans somewhat and rumours had it Edgar hated it.

Hi everyone, after getting more adventurous with the music on our last issue, we explore more engaging sounds again that play in the field of electronic music, but don’t go as far as the more youthfull modern trend of techno, dance, house an so on, Mick showing his age here. Good to see some of our regulars with their new albums, including Keith Richie, Sequential Dreams, Bernd Kistenmacher, Alpha Wave Movement, Spiral Dreams & Bing Satellites.

Intro music to Sequences

Welcome to our opening edition for April, slightly different this time. With so many of tracks in the ambient, cosmic, experimental side, we’ve decided to split this podcast into two sections, the first the more melodic, rhythmical sounds of EM, including live tracks from, Kebu, Stephan Whitlan, Moonbooter and Otarion, the second section flowing with dark ambient space music & experimental sounds, slowly

fading out to the softer new age style. You make the choice between the two or both if you are more adventurous,

It’s good to see two more female musicians here, Pilestra from the band Thy Veils with a solo single and Shirley Cason, relaxing peaceful music, As with previous editions, we feature a track from one of our lost friends who died to soon in 2015, Patrick Kosmos.

We open with two tracks from Nord’s new album, Ring Of Fire.

Welcome to Sequences, time seems to be certainly flying this year, already into March with this edition, again Mick has put an excellent range of music on air for you. Syngate Records have re-released two early albums by Jack Spruch known as E-Motion, who sadly departed this world to soon in 2013. It’s been awhile since we featured Steve Hillman and his collaboration with Greek composer Thaneco has produced an exceptional album, Empyreal, hear one of our favourite dark wave bands, Mercury’s Antennae, also feeling a bit more adventurous, we indulged in some tasty Kraut rock from Russian Maat Lander and the boys will be drooling over the looks of Alira Mun, presenting her vocals on Gemma, produced by Thy Veils, Daniel Dorobantu, probably will not go down to well with the stance listeners of electronic music, who remembers the disappointment from some fans towards the first two tracks of Tangerine Dream’s Cyclone album. We kick off this session with Andy Pickford’s latest release, Harmonics In Silence, one of two new releases, the other titled, Shadows Of The Gate, both an epic continuous suite of over 3hours, Shadows not to be missed, will be previewed in our next podcast
