These chapters in Matthew contain some of the most beautiful-sounding and misunderstood verses in the New Testament: the Beatitudes. And it all comes to a climax with possibly the simplest, most life-changing verse in all the gospels. These are all calls of God to come see reality as He sees it, and then act accordingly!

The best life ever lived was not Gandhi's or Lincoln's or Martin Luther King's, as great as those folks were. Jesus lived the best life ever and as we continue to study his life as recorded in the Book of Matthew, we are challenged and changed by that perfect life. Today's message focuses on chapters 3 and 4 and finds that God is the One who makes amazing preparations for His own.

The Gospel of Matthew is the longest and perhaps most quoted narrative of the life of Jesus. We're studying that book from now until the spring in a series of messages called "The Best Life Ever Lived". In this first message, using chapters 1 and 2 as a text, we begin to discover the three most important features of His life; and discover ours as well.

In our last sermon on our "Born-Again Identity in Christ," we focus on our role as priests. We look at what priests did in Old Testament times, and see how God has called and equipped us to be New Testament priests. What gifts He has granted us and what great opportunities we have in front of us!

In every family there are rights given the members of that family! That's wonderful; but there are also responsibilities to remember too. In this message we'll continue to explore the "Born Again Identity" and find what rights and responsibilities are part of your personal identity as a Christian.

We live in between what God has done and what He is going to do. Knowing both should affect us greatly in the here and now. Hear how free we are in Christ, and what a great inheritance awaits us.
