This past weekend we had several prophets come and minister to the church. Steve Fedele preached three impactful messages about the local church and God’s heart towards it.

Glenn Kaiser, an elder in the church, is our guest speaker today. He spoke on Hebrews 10:19-25 as Part 7 in our series on Hebrews. Glenn looks deep into what it means to boldly enter the Holy Place of God and the important aspects of walking that out. He also encourages and reminds everyone of the freedom and promise of the new covenant.

That was then, this is now. So much of this portion of the book of Hebrews follows that pattern! We find that there was a place and means of worship that, even though it endured for a long time, isn't valid any more. It's been replaced by something way better! Could that also relate to your life personally?

Guest speaker Larry Arendas speaks on Hebrews 7 and 8 in the next sermon in our series about Hebrews. Larry looks in depth at Hebrews 7:25 and the freedom that Christ gives us. He encourages everyone to let God be the one to carry it all so that we are free to just be. “To do is not to be, to be is Jesus.”

As we walk through the book of Hebrews, we find the author's challenge to not be like the ancient Israelites. They heard God's word, but didn't join their faith to what they heard, causing them to fail to enter into God's rest. This sermon encourages us to believe God's words, to make our response active and visible, and to thereby receive His rest.

The book of Hebrews is one of the richest in Scripture. This sermon kicks off a summer-long series on this book, highlighting the book's one central idea: Jesus is better! Better than the angels, and better than what the first listeners had experienced with Old Testament sacrifices. A better hope, a better promise, and a better sacrifice we can rest in!

Josiah was the last "good king" of Judah, and his life is an incredible example of so many things that make for a full and godly life. From his youth, to his response to hearing God's word, to his basic "life plan," Josiah is a model for us all.
