Daniel 3:8-23

We are given such good examples of how to stand for what is right in the book of Daniel, and this one in particular focuses on Daniel’s three friends. You don’t want to miss this first part of the episode “Trial by Fire” from Daniel chapter 3.

Daniel 3:1-7

It is interesting that a certain type of music always accompanies idolatry. As Christians, we must make sure that the music we listen to matches our worship of God, not the sensual, emotional, self-gratifying music of the world.

Our repentance before God has to be real. Today’s discussion goes into the king’s response to Daniel and why it was not true repentance. The greatest takeaway is that we must take our sin before God very seriously in order to be forgiven by Him and changed into the people He wants us to be.

Daniel 2:4-13

Today, we learn the limitation of man’s reason and wisdom. This important lesson is on display from the king’s interaction with the wise men in his court. We discuss what we can learn from this and where we should look for the answers we most desperately need. Ultimately, the emptiness of man’s understanding only sets the stage for God’s glory to be revealed in a more spectacular way!

Daniel 2:2-6

Today we take a look at who the king’s counselors were and what the king asked of them. We see that this was not only a request, but a test to see if the magicians were trustworthy. Daniel 2:1-4

As we start into chapter two of the book of Daniel, we are reminded that God’s timing is always perfect, and we can trust Him to accomplish His will on time every time! Stay tuned to study this keystone prophecy in the Old Testament.

Daniel 1:17-21

God rewards the faithfulness of Daniel and his friends by bringing them into favor with Nebuchadnezzar, who was impressed with their wisdom and understanding. Some lessons we learn this week include the importance of serving God while waiting, a reminder of God’s sovereignty, our need to be devoted to God, and the blessing of our eternal destiny in Christ.

Daniel 1:9-16

In these verses, we get a glimpse of Daniel’s tenacity, courage, wisdom, and patience all in one fell swoop. These are great character traits to emulate as we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives every single day.
