As we began our study into the life of David the King, we discovered that King Saul was a King of the people, for the people, and by the people. King Saul was a king after the people-s heart. God had searched for and found a man after His own heart.----The relationship between David, the son of Jesse the Bethlehemite and King Saul can be compared to the relationship between the Lord Jesus Christ and Judas Iscariot. Judas was included in the number of Jesus- disciples. He continued with them until Satan entered him at the Last Supper and betrayed Jesus to the Jewish leaders who turned Jesus over to the Romans for crucifixion.----King Saul was anointed by a cup of anointing oil. David was anointed by a horn of anointing oil which might have amounted to either a pint or quart of anointing oil. At the time of David-s anointing, Satan may have entered King Saul.----Proverbs 16-4 reminds us that neither Satan nor King Saul were loose cannons attempting to destroy God-s Work. -The Lord has made all things for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of disaster.-----1 Samuel 17-45-58 demonstrates God-s launching David-s training program to shape David, the shepherd boy into David, the Warrior King. In verses 45-47 we find David facing the giant. In verses 48-51, we find David Attacking the giant. In verses 52-58, we find David removing the threat.

In Psalm 68 we see that the school of Christ teaches us to be glad in verses 1-7. The school of Christ teaches us to proclaim the goodness of the Lord in verses 8-19. The School of Christ teaches us to receive God-s strength and power in verses 20-35.

We also see Samuel taking a bold step in verses 6-12. We finally see Samuel and David both taking their next steps in verses 13-23.
