Luke 2-1-14 provides us a lens through which to see the descending glory in verses 13-14, the expanding glory in verses 1-4, and the veiled glory in verses 5-12.

In our consideration of of our submission to Christ Jesus our Lord we find Colossians 3-1-11 the hinge plate that binds Christ Jesus- supremecy to our submission to the Savior Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. In verses 1-4 we are reminded to set our minds on a new reality of things which are above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. In verses 5-9 we discover that because our minds are set on things above we are to put to death those things in us which are not heavenly minded. In verses 10-11 we are reminded that our minds must catch up with our new reality.

To become a cadet in the United States Air Force Academy a high school graduate had to receive the gift of qualifying for entrance into the Academy. As a chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, I was able to assist in at least two high school graduates who received entrance into the Air Force Academy.----One of the High School graduates who entered the Air Force Academy returned home to tell us what happened as they entered into the Academy. The first week was called Hell Week.----They were made to understand that the ants on the Air Force Academy grounds were more Air Force than they were. The Academy Seniors were given the task of helping the first year cadets get accustomed to the Academy by walking on the walk way dedicated to the plebes.----The first day at the Academy was given to helping the first year cadets learn to make their bed. Once they had learned to make their beds, they were told that their supervisors would come in any day of the week, at any time of the day to inspect their beds.----As the result all the cadets slept in their sleeping bags under their perfectly made up bed because any messed up bed would require all the cadets to remake their beds perfectly.----As we consider Colossians 3-1 - 2 this morning, we are looking at the Harmony of the Apostle Paul-s Letters to the Churches of Asia Minor - Galatia.
