Every generation of the church needs to be determined to pass the gospel faithfully to the next. The challenge for our generation will likely be: Can’t we accept gospel promises but abandon gospel ethics? Can’t we treasure the gospel’s promises without the embarrassment of the gospel’s commands? Well, for love of God and neighbor we can’t. Which I hope to show you in the next 30 minutes.

The groaning of this present age will give way to future glory. The main thing Paul says in Romans 8:18-25 is this: Our present suffering can’t compare to the glory that awaits God’s children. So groan and long with hope.
