If you are facing trials of any kind in your life right now, James says you should count it all joy. Why? Because, he says, those trials are testing your faith, and that testing is creating steadfastness in you.

People often question whether preaching is effective or relevant in today's world. However, Scripture simply but clearly teaches us that… C. It pleases God to use Christ-centered preaching to save souls and change lives.

Firstly, we should sing because God wants us to sing to him. Secondly, we sing because it’s GOOD to sing praises to God! Thirdly, we sing to God because he sings! Fourthly, we sing because God wants us to sing to EACH OTHER. Fifthly, we sing because it helps us remember. Finally, we sing because it helps us in our suffering.

God’s intention through his word today is not to pry money from your wallet, but that collectively and individually we might examine our heart before God through the lens of our giving, and see if our giving reflects a deepening love for God and His people.

A crucial lesson from this Scripture is that it is our faith that gives us strength in life, so we need to know what we believe and truly believe it.

So what we do when we baptize people here is testify that Jesus has already baptized them himself. We testify that a radical, miraculous, Holy Spirit-enabled INTERNAL cleansing has taken place. It is an outward sign of an inward reality.

First, we must worship in spirit. And second, we must worship in truth.

The central theme in our Scripture reading comes at the end of verse 7: for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. It's a simple principle. No gardener plants beans and harvests cantaloups. This remains true even if you pray very hard for canteloupes. You reap what you sow. In the Bible, this principle is ancient and widespread. It touches every aspect of our lives.

Do not carry alone what Christ never intended you to carry alone. Let the gospel speak to it. Let Christ bear your burden. And let others carry YOU the way Christ has carried them.

When Jesus promised the Holy Spirit, he said that the Holy Spirit would glorify him. The Holy Spirit deepens our relationship with Jesus Christ.
