- The Bible is the Living Word of God. Too often, even Christians fail to acknowledge the truth of this simple statement. Yet, when you consider the complexity of having over 40 different authors write it over a period of 1,500 years, there can be no doubt that what we read in its pages is nothing less than the inspired word of God himself. Listen as Pastor Doug explains not only how miraculous the writing of the Bible is, but also what it means when we embrace the entire truth of what it says to us. As it states in 2 Timothy, 16 - 17: All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

- After stating the belief in God the Father, The Apostles Creed continues with “...And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord.” Jesus is the centerpiece of the universe and His sacrifice for our sins is the key to our eternal relationship with our Creator. Even though His Life and Death are well-documented, there seem to be many misunderstandings about who He is, even among Christians. In this message, Pastor Doug helps explain the essentials of who Jesus is and how we should respond to His love for us.

- “We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” So begins The Apostles’ Creed, a foundational statement of the beliefs of the Christian church that has been passed down to us from those who actually witnessed the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. This creed is short enough to recite in about 1 minute, but profound enough to guide us for an entire lifetime. - In this parable, Jesus tells the story of how the kingdom of God is like the traditional Jewish wedding, where the groom goes to prepare a home for the bride, and then shows up at an unexpected time to whisk her away for a “surprise” wedding. This period of anticipation can take as long as a year, during which time the bride and her attendants must be always watchful and ready to take part in a wedding ceremony at a moment’s notice. In much the same way, Christ - the groom - has gone to prepare a home for His bride - the church (us) - and He will return at a moment’s notice to whisk us away. In this message, Pastor Doug breaks down what it means to be ready for this great occasion, like the 5 wise virgins were in the parable.

- Guest speaker James Muffett reminds us that we have a heritage that has brought us to this point in time - a biological, cultural, and spiritual history. In that light, we need to remember where we came from, understand how the future is weaved from the present, and the importance of keeping our heritage alive against the tendency to forget and degenerate over time. We need to do everything we can - even sacrificially - to help make sure that future generations - our children and beyond - will enjoy the same relationship with and blessing from God that we have benefitted from in our lives.

- In the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, Jesus tells the story of the servant who is forgiven a huge debt by his master, but then fails to extend forgiveness for a much smaller debt that is owed to him by a fellow servant. This parable puts some detail to the phrase from The Lord’s Prayer, which states, “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” In this message, learn how our own forgiveness from God is linked to our forgiveness of others, and what we free ourselves from when we set down our offenses and forgive others completely.
