  • Answering Basic Questions (Part 5): What Is the Gospel?
In our text, Peter explained that each Christian needs to be ready to give an answer for what we believe. Giving a defense for the HOPE within us requires an ability to articulate the basics of our faith. In this series, we are going to discuss some basic questions that may arise. This is to help reinforce our own faith and help prepare us to teach others as opportunities arise.

Virtually everyone we will meet has at least heard of Jesus, they just have different opinions/assumptions about Him. They may see Him as a great teacher, Jewish rabbi, myth, legend, or the Son of God. In this lesson, we are just going to scratch the surface of this topic and answer who Jesus is.

  • Remember the Fallen
Memorial Day is a time to remember those who died while serving in the armed forces. It is good to appreciate the sacrifices that helped make it possible for us to live a quiet and peaceful life (1 Timothy 2:2). The New Testament also tells of some who died, not for a country, but for the kingdom of Christ. In this lesson, we are going to remember these martyrs and consider some lessons from their deaths.

This psalm is about our attitude toward worship – particularly, the opportunities to assemble for worship. It describes worshiping in the temple (the house of the Lord) and going to Jerusalem. The parallel is to the assembly (where we gather) and the church (where the Lord placed His name). Let us notice some of the things this psalm teaches us that relates to worship and the church.

  • Who Is My Brother?
Peter said we are to “love the brotherhood.” This is a special group of people. But who are they? Does it matter that we know? Shouldn’t we love everyone? Of course, we should love everyone; but it is important that we know who our brethren are. We need to appreciate the blessings of this brotherhood and fulfill our responsibilities to our brethren.
