This week, our pastor preached from Luke 11:37-52. We examined the marks of a Pharisee that Jesus provides for us as Jesus dramatically confronts and denounces the Pharisees and all those who would load people up with guilt and shame. Our hope and prayer is that we would all be encouraged by the Grace of Christ for sinners like us.
This week, our pastor preached from Luke 11:27-36 and the glory of Christ that fills our lives with light.
Following our advent series, our pastor returned to the book of Luke and preached from chapter 11, verses 14-28. We considered the Kingship that Jesus reveals about Himself, how His first audience received this revelation, and how we should receive it today.
This week, a guest pastor, the Reverend Mark Moore, preached on the three wise men from Matthew 2.
This week, our pastoral intern preached from Isaiah 52:13-53:12 . We learned that Jesus is not just the servant of the Lord, but that He is the suffering servant of the Lord. He is the one who was pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities.
Continuing our advent series, our pastor preached from Isaiah 10:5 – 11:13. We considered God’s kindness and His severity and that God is constantly raising up new growth and new fruit from old trees that he chops down. We learned that God constantly brings out a faithful remnant that he delivers, preserves, and starts over with, and that all of God’s grace and all of His promises begin in Jesus Christ.
Continuing our advent series, our pastor preached from Isaiah 9:1-7 about the promise of the Divine Child who would grow up to be our “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” We talked about the “zeal of the Lord” for each of us and His church.
This week, our pastoral intern preached the first of several Advent sermons from the Book of Isaiah. We considered God’s promise that Christ would be (and is now) Immanuel, God with us.
This week, we continued examining Christ’s very encouraging words on how to pray and commune with God from Luke 11:1-13.
Please note that due to technical difficulties this week, the sermon audio is significantly degraded compared to our normal recordings.
This week, our pastor preached on Luke 11:1-4. He discussed how most of us are like Christ’s Disciples. Like us, they knew they should be better at prayer and they wanted to be better at prayer, so they asked Jesus to teach them how to be better at prayer. And He did. He gave them the simple model of the Lord’s Prayer. We examined the Lord’s prayer with the hope that He would stir our hearts to be better at prayer.
