This week, our pastor finished the second part of the “Meals as Mission” series preaching from Luke 14:12-24.
This week, our Pastor began a two-week sermon series in Luke 14 titled “Meals as Mission.” Christ often uses meals to teach us that the Kingdom of God is a place of feasting and good fellowship. In Luke 14:1-11, we considered how we are recipients of God’s great blessings and grace in Christ and how we can be a source of blessings and grace for others.
This week, our Pastoral Intern preached from Luke 13: 22-35, where Jesus teaches us that His kingdom is more exclusive than we realize yet more inclusive than we imagine, and the King is more compassionate than we deserve.
This Sunday, our Pastor preached from Luke 13:10-20 where Christ teaches us (1) what kind of king He is and (2) what kind of kingdom He invites us into.
This week, our Pastor preached from Luke 13:1-9 to help us examine how we should understand suffering – both ours and other people’s.
This Sunday, our Pastor preached from Luke 12:49-59 where Jesus prepares his disciples (and us) to live faithfully amidst conflict in the world and in our families.
This Sunday, our Paster preached from Luke 12:35-48. In an information age when we are surprised by so many reports of spiritual abuse, this passage provides us an opportunity to listen to Jesus address the topic directly. He has a lot to teach us about his return to this world that should encourage us and increase our hope that it would be sooner rather than later.
This week, our Pastor preached on how Jesus’ words in Luke 12:22-34 will build up our faith in His care and concern for us in a time when many of us are tempted to be anxious and worried about our jobs, careers, and families.
This week, our Pastor preached on Luke 12:13-21 where Jesus teaches the crowds (and us) to be on guard against covetousness and the temptation to measure our life according to money, things, and success. We examined ways we can find contentment amidst a culture of covetousness.
This Sunday, our pastor preached from Luke 12:1-12 on the goodness of God that the Pharisees refused to receive and we sometimes fail to recognize.
