From Acts 13:16-39 comes todays sermon. David was a shepherd, a soldier, a musician, a poet, a king. He was victorious in the face of insurmountable odds. He was zealous for the glory of God. He was patient as he waited for his opportunity to serve. He was careful not to take vengeance into his own hands when he was presented with the opportunity to destroy his enemy. He was selfish as he sought to satisfy his fleshly cravings with another mans wife. He was foolish for thinking he could cover it up. At times, he was filled with joy and excitement as he worshipped in the presence of God. At other times, he was filled with guilt and regret as he wept in Gods presence. He knew the joy of marrying a young, beautiful bride, the pain of burying an infant child, and the heartbreak of dealing with a rebellious, ungrateful son. He was an adulterer, a liar, a manipulator, a murderer, and a hypocrite. And yet, when God looked at him, He described him as a man after my heart Listen and learn today!
