In this sermon, PSC elder Alan Mann, opens up the question the Pharisees asked Jesus, "Who gave you the authority to do these things?" He shows why the Pharisees felt so threatened by Jesus and why we might too when we understand his claim on our lives. He then opens up the Parable of the Tenants showing how deep our hatred of Jesus' authority can run, before flipping it and calling us to yield to Jesus' authority as our King. Living under His rule is the only safe place for us to live our lives.

In this sermon, Trainee Pastor, Sam Pibworth shows how the gospel is found in the Book of Joshua. He shows how the Israelites were saved by the grace and power of God and so are we. He issues the same challenge Joshua did to the Israelites to rid our lives of idolatry and worship the LORD alone. He finishes by encouraging us to remember the LORD and his salvation, especially through the physical means he has given to us of baptism and communion.

He looks at the unique nature of this test, and why God would ask seemingly such an abhorrent thing from Abraham. He celebrates Abraham's costly obedience and his confidence in God even to be able to raise the dead. Finally he looks at God's provision of a substitute for Isaac, and how through Jesus Christ God has provided a substitute for us too- but at a far greater cost!

In this sermon Pastor Neil Todman shows how easy it is to come into the Kingdom of God: we hold out our empty hands to Jesus as a little child would and ask him to pick us up. He then shows why it is so hard for us to come into the Kingdom of God: like the rich, young, ruler we have to lay down not only our sin but our own acts that we think make us worthy if we are ever going to come in. Finally he explains that in the light of eternity and the blessings of being part of God's family now, it is so worth coming in. No-one needs to miss out!

He thinks about Adam and Eve's rule as cultivators within the Garden and the implications for us as by the power of the Spirit within us we seek to share the gospel of Christ with others; raise the next generation to fear him; and do our daily work to the glory and praise of the Living God.
