As part of RBT at Philip Street, trainee Pastor Sam Pibworth gives us an overview of the book of Exodus. He starts with the God who wants us to worship him and then splits the evening into two main parts: God's action in salvation and God's invitation to worship. • 7th September (am)- LWJ1- Colossians 1 v.15-23- Neil Todman
In this sermon, launching a new series following Tim Chester's discipleship course, "Life with Jesus", Pastor Neil Todman shows us how we share in the victory of Christ. We share in his victory in life, as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe is also the one who made us and watches over our lives. We were made by Him and for Him. We share in his victory over death as Christ is the firstborn among the dead and where our Head has gone his body will surely follow. Finally we share in his victory over evil won for us on the cross. Let this sermon take you from being dead on the beach to life in the waters; and from life in the waters into the depths of God's love.

  • 19th August (am)- Psalm 13- Neil Todman
In this passionate sermon, Pastor Neil Todman shows how the God of the Bible includes 50 sad songs of lament in the Psalms so in seasons of life which are heart-breaking and overwhelming we have the words of worship to offer to Him. He doesn't shy away from the fact that in our suffering we often have unanswered questions. He then shows how our knowledge of the character of God and his dealings with other people can give us confidence in his faithfulness towards us. Supremely we see his heart for sinners and sufferers in the person of Jesus Christ- God in human flesh, who suffered throughout his life, but supremely on the cross. Finally, drawing from HB Charles, Pastor Neil shows how prayer can turn pain into praise, and how deep sorrow and overwhelming joy can exist in a believer's heart at the same time.
