  • 3rd August (pm)- RBT- Introduction to Psalms 1 to 50- Saeyoung Park
In this interview, Pastor Neil Todman talks informally with Pastor Saeyoung Park (Briarwood Church, Birmingham, Alabama) about the Psalms as we prepare to read the first 50 in August as part of RBT, They look at why Christians find the Psalms so comforting and inspiring. They consider their place in the Bible and their place in the worship of ancient Israel. Finally they turn their attention to ways of seeing Christ within the Psalms, and especially as our Great High Priest that He is the lead worshipper present among his people.

  • 27th July (pm)- Proverbs 30- Neil Todman
As we reach the end of a month in the Wisdom literature as part of RBT, Pastor Neil Todman preaches a one-off sermon from Proverbs. Proverbs 30 contains the only prayer in the book of Proverbs. The verses leading up to the prayer show an non-Israelite man of genuine humility, who thinks little of himself and much of the LORD, and who wants to grow in his relationship with the LORD and avoid the traps of both poverty and riches. Can we pray this prayer after him? Can we see how this man and his prayer lead us to Christ?

  • 27th July (am)- Mark Recap- Neil Todman
Concluding our series in Mark's gospel, Pastor Neil Todman looks at how Mark's gospel answers three main questions: 1) Who was Jesus? 2) What did Jesus come to do? What does it mean for us to follow Him? He makes an impassioned plea for us to turn from sin and to Christ; for us to have Jesus as our King, our God and our Saviour; and for us to take up our cross and follow Him now and for all eternity.

  • 20th July (am)- Mark 16 v.1-8- Neil Todman
In this sermon, Pastor Neil Todman looks at the unexpected way Mark concludes his gospel. Why does he end on such a downer? What does he want to teach us through that about following the Servant King? He looks at how our confidence can be grounded in the resurrection of Jesus and His never-ending love for sinners and failures like us. He applies the wonder of the death and resurrection of Christ to our own life and death, so we can live boldly now confident in our King.

  • 13th July- Mark 15 v.40-47- Sam Pibworth
In this pastorally sensitive sermon, Sam Pibworth looks at one of the last taboo subjects in our culture: death. He looks at how the death of Jesus affected those around him and what happened with Jesus' soul whilst his body was in the grave. He then brings both the comfort and the challenge of the gospel to our hearts: Christ has won the victory but do we stand in that victory with him nor not?

  • 6th July (am)- Mark 15 v.33-39- Ilho
In this farewell sermon, Ilho- a South Korean Mission who has been part of the PSC congregation over the past year- opens up Mark's account of Jesus' death on the cross. He draws richly from the other gospels, and the Old Testament, to help us understand how the death of Jesus overcame the wrath of God, and saved the worst of sinners- the Roman Centurion who crucified him. He then appeals for us all to put our faith in Christ as he did.
