Why celebrate Ascension Day? Luke 24:50–53 reminds us that Jesus returned to the Father and took His place on the throne in glory. From heaven He poured out the Holy Spirit upon His Church, continues to pray and intercede for us, and reigns as our victorious King. The ascension gives us hope and confidence, because the same Jesus who ascended into heaven has promised that He will come again.

Why celebrate Ascension Day? Because after bearing the scars of battle at the cross and rising victorious from the grave, Jesus ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father in glory and authority. We celebrate His reign as King, His victory over sin and death, and the assurance that He now intercedes for His people.
