Sin and brokenness cause sad dark songs to get stuck in our hearts. False things we believe about ourselves, others, and God. It's hard to recognize these nauseating refrains, let alone stop repeating them to ourselves. But there is another song... The song of God's steadfast love. This song will drown out the refrain of sin and brokenness stuck in our hearts.
From Psalm 107, we see three qualities of God's steadfast love:
It meets us wherever we are
It responds to humility
It has the power to change thingsSermon Application
Where have you seen human examples of steadfast love in your life?
Is there a difference between love expressed in emotion and love expressed in commitment?
Do you recognize any false refrains repeated in your heart and soul?
Why is it difficult for human beings to cry out for the Lord?
How do we persist when God does not answer our prayers immediately?
