James is a challenging book to preach through for a number of different reasons. Let me talk about two reasons that it’s such a challenge. First, we break the book into passages and sections to preach and teach from. Studying in little chunks is a...
Turn in your Bible to the book of James. We’re in the middle of a letter in which James is telling the first-century Christians, who have been scattered because of persecution, what it means to live out a faith that might change the world. As is true...
We’re continuing in our series in James, looking at what it means to live out a real faith in real life. James challenges his readers to examine their hearts, and as we study these passages, we should examine our hearts and our faith as well. We need...
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. 2 For we all stumble in many ways, and if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he...
We’ll turn to the book of James again today. For the past two months, we’ve been in our series “Real Faith. Real Life.” James was written by Jesus’ younger half-brother who came to faith and trust in Jesus years after his childhood, as he grew up...
We’re in a series we’ve entitled “Real Faith. Real Life.”, We’ve been learning from Jesus’ younger half-brother James, who walked with and talked with Jesus, who saw Him probably every single day of his young life and then into adulthood.
We’ve been studying the first-century letter that was written by James, the younger half-brother of Jesus. We are learning from this incredibly practical book what it means to have real faith in real life. It’s a book that puts on workman’s clothes...
In our series, “Real Faith. Real Life,” we’ve been learning from the five-chapter New Testament letter that was written by James, the younger half-brother of Jesus. James has a lot to say about his Brother’s teaching and ministry. He especially is...
This is our third week in our series, “Real Faith. Real Life.” We’re learning how to connect our faith to the daily, mundane, even crazy aspects of our lives. Last week we learned how we are to live out a vibrant faith as Christ followers when trials...

About Sermons from Village Bible Church (Sugar Grove Campus)
From the publisher's feed
Village Bible Church is a Christian, protestant, evangelical, non-denominational church seeking to make disciples of Jesus.
Our mission drives us to find ways to reach our community. In 2008, God called Village to a new vision through the adoption of two other area churches in Aurora and Shabbona. In 2013, God opened the door to the launch of a Spanish-speaking campus, and our El Camino campus was born.
Each of our locations are connected as one, despite physical distance, because each has a similar dynamic worship experience, including "personal touches" such as live bands and campus pastoral teams. The teaching pastors at each campus preach through the same sermon series bringing continuity across all locations. The pastors of all campuses meet weekly to collaborate with each other regarding ministry locally and church-wide.
People who attend Village Bible Church will find the quality of a large church with the intimacy and personal interaction of a smaller church.
