As I shared last week, James has a special place in your pastor’s heart. When I was a young man growing up here, I never thought that God was going to call me to be a preacher—not only to a local church, but to the very church I grew up in. That was...
1. Three characters ● Wise men -- were called "Magi" ● Herod -- was called "King of the Jews" ● Religious leaders -- were the chief priests and scribes ...
We’ve been looking at the life and times of a man who has more written about him in the book of Genesis than anybody else—more than Adam and Eve, more than Noah, more than Abraham, more than his father Jacob. Joseph has 14 chapters of the first book...
We’re now in the next to the last week in our series called “Joseph: Seeing the Good in God’s Detours.” Next week we’ll pull everything together after going through this roller coaster that was Joseph’s life. What we’ve learned through all the ups and...
Last week we came to the part of the story where Joseph identified himself, not only as prime minister, but as the long-lost brother whom his brothers had sold into slavery. He’s also charged his brothers, “Go home, get Dad, and bring the whole...
As we’ve been chronicling Joseph’s life, we’ve seen how this favored son, who had been given a coat of many colors by his dad, endured harsh treatment from his brothers. This would culminate in his being beaten, having his coat ripped off his back...
“Are you truly sorry, or are you just sorry you got caught?” said every parent to every child they’ve ever had. Repentance is doing a “180.” You’re going one way, then something happens, or something stirs your mind, or you get in trouble and get...

About Sermons from Village Bible Church (Sugar Grove Campus)
From the publisher's feed
Village Bible Church is a Christian, protestant, evangelical, non-denominational church seeking to make disciples of Jesus.
Our mission drives us to find ways to reach our community. In 2008, God called Village to a new vision through the adoption of two other area churches in Aurora and Shabbona. In 2013, God opened the door to the launch of a Spanish-speaking campus, and our El Camino campus was born.
Each of our locations are connected as one, despite physical distance, because each has a similar dynamic worship experience, including "personal touches" such as live bands and campus pastoral teams. The teaching pastors at each campus preach through the same sermon series bringing continuity across all locations. The pastors of all campuses meet weekly to collaborate with each other regarding ministry locally and church-wide.
People who attend Village Bible Church will find the quality of a large church with the intimacy and personal interaction of a smaller church.
