Sermons from WCC

1 Kings 19:1-19

All of us experience the ups and downs of life and will have days when we feel low. Whatever we go through or will go through in the future, know that God is moved by our suffering and will always bring comfort and provision when we entrust our lives to Him. The Power of His Spirit and His Word will surround us, come upon us, and cover us through these times.

The Bible tells us God spoke the world into existence: “Let there be light….”; “Let us make man in our own image…”. The book of Isaiah confirms this in chapter 55 verse 11 (ESV):
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent.

So what does this mean for us today as Christians? As Children of God we carry a lot of power in that pink jelly-like muscular organ in our mouths (proverbs 18:21). But the question we wrestle with remains: what are we saying to the world about Jesus and how is the world receiving it?

This week Leke concludes his series by looking reflectively on how the Word and the Spirit has come together in our lives this year. He also looks at how the word of God which is wrapped in the Spirit opens us up to the Lord and how we should allow God to search our hearts and heal us of all things that we choose to hide.

Today we will expose a counterfeit word & spirit at work & how it operates in our world deceiving multitudes into believing lies that keep people in bondage. As you listen to this message we pray that God’s Truth shatters these lies & brings Hope & freedom into your life, & that you will be set on fire to pursue both the Word & Spirit with all your being.

Let us partner with God by using our faith & our expectation for Him to reveal more of the depths & wonders of His promises over our lives & over our families.

God is a God of Restoration. He sees all that we go through, good and bad.He is Faithful to His Word and when we sow, the Bible says we shall also reap.God has seen your tears and promises to bring restoration to those who have sown there tears as seeds.

Psalm 226 4- 6
4 Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory!
May streams of your refreshing flow over us
until our dry hearts are drenched again.
5 Those who sow their tears as seeds[a]
will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of glee.
6 They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow,
but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness
as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!
