Belief in who Jesus really is an important first step.  That belief should also compel us into following Him.  This message focuses on the familiar but challenging words Jesus gives to anyone who would claim to follow Him.

Having the correct view of  who Jesus was and is can have eternal consequences for us.  This week we focused on the belief (and Truth) that Jesus Christ stepped down out of heaven as God to become fully human on and for our behalf.

For the last two weeks, we discussed the reality of sin and a strategy for fighting against it.  On Sunday we looked at Romans 8 and the reality of no condemnation for those who are in Christ.  After an emotionally tough week for Americans, this was a timely and encouraging passage to unpack as we seek to extend the grace we have experienced through the blood of Jesus!

Last week we focused on the reality of sin and Satan.  This week we looked at the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness to see the reality of spiritual warfare and how He responded to the attacks.

The reality that we live in a broken world cannot be denied.  In today's message we look back at where it all began, in Genesis 3.  Sin is not only real; it is incredibly deceptive!  Whether we believe in Jesus or not, humans have a deep longing in our souls that something is just not right with this world we live in.

Regardless of who you are, where you come from, or where you currently stand in life there comes a time when we need rest.  In today's message, we see Jesus addressing the harsh result of unrepentence, and the reality check of moralism.  In the midst of his address, Jesus lovingly invites us into His love and mercy and grace!

As we take a summer break from our series through the Book of Acts, we jump back into our Think to Change series we began last year.  Alex kicks us off with a message that focuses on our creation in the image of God.  This unique characteristic of humans gives us purpose and responsibility to love others.

For the second week in a row, we are camped out in the same passage.  Last week, we focused on Simon the Magician and how his selfish motives led to a false faith in the hope of Jesus that Philip was proclaiming to the Samaritans.

This week we focus on why they did not receive the Holy Spirit once they were baptized in the name of Jesus.  It is an often misunderstood piece of scripture we must be cautious to discern wisely by looking at the whole of God's Word.

There are two major points in Acts 8:9-25 that deserve attention, so to do each one justice, we will be spending two weeks here.  Today we focus on Simon the magician.  Who is he?  Was he a true believer when Philip came to town?  Where was his heart when it comes to surrendering to Jesus as Lord?

More important than this is the question of do we too often act like Simon?
