The story of Peter & John healing the lame man is an incredible picture of salvation.  Not only do we read about a man receiving the ability to physically walk for the first time in his life, but a closer look will lead us to believe he was also healed spiritually.

We are hard wired to be in community because that is how God designed us from the beginning.  As we look at the 1st century church in Acts, we see an incredibly diverse group of people who had everything in common.  They lived in community despite their differences because they were one under Christ.

Once the Holy Spirit arrives, the disciples immediately begin the mission of birthing the Church.  Today, we look at the importance of OT prophecy coming true through the words of Peter as he boldly steps out and preaches the first recorded sermon in history about the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Pentecost comes, and in Acts 2, so does the promised Holy Spirit.  Entire denominations have been formed from misinterpreting this chapter.  Verse by verse we carefully look at not only the Holy Spirit's role for the believers in the first century church, but also what it means for us today.

Even before Pentecost, we see how the early Christians not only anchored their lives in prayer but we also see how their trust & faith led to a life of incredible obedience.

As we look back and celebrate God's faithfulness throughout 2015, we also look ahead at the importance and responsibility of telling our faith story.  As believers who have been radically transformed by the grace of God and the blood of Jesus, we realize our story is ultimately His story we get to be a part of.

On the first week of our journey through the Book of Acts, Dave provides an overview of its author, theme, & purpose to communicate how important this story of the New Testament Church is to our story today.
