Sermons of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Ephesians 6:18-20 — False teachings concerning the death of Christ; the death of Christ misunderstood; the purpose of His coming was to die.

Ephesians 6:18-20, 1 Timothy 3:14-16 — Who was the person of Christ; and what was His message? 'all men did marvel'; the great mystery of Godliness.

Ephesians 6:18-20 — The mystery of God's ways with respect to the world; the sole explanation of the condition of man; man governed by desire; not reason; why does God allow pain and suffering? the final mystery : the second coming of Christ.

Ephesians 6:18-20 — What is the mystery of the Gospel? the gospel always comes as a surprise; human wisdom rejects the Gospel; spiritual blindness; the need for child-like eyes.

Galatians 6:15 — The misunderstanding of Christianity and the Christian life; 'the uncircumcision' : who are they? trusting in the wrong things; the impossibility of 'taking up' Christianity; the fundamental need of man; a new creation.

Galatians 6:14 — Not all ways of looking at the Cross are true; all else worthless against the glory of the Cross; why glory in the Cross? the wondrous character of the Cross.

Galatians 6:14 — The birth of the Lord can only be understood in the light of His death; the whole of the Old Testament points to the Cross; the teaching of Christ condemns us; the falseness of the 'Imitation of Christ' teaching; the Lamb of God and the Cross of Calvary; the end of the journey of the Son of God; the focal point of his humiliation.

Galatians 6:14 — A view of 'self' without the cross of Christ; man is governed by 'self'; the life and spiritual death of man revealed by the light of the Cross; a new outlook on life; the Cross as a teacher.

Galatians 6:14 — The world's troubles a direct result of man's rebellion against God; man's need of peace with God; man cannot find peace apart from God; condemned by the Law; not under Law; but grace; the only way man may enter the presence of God.

Galatians 6:14 — No end to the glorious message of the Cross; to be a human being is an important and serious thing; the Cross shows the seriousness of sin; a word is sufficient for creation; but action is necessary for forgiveness; the Cross; a public declaration of the wrath of God on sin.
