Pastor George Moore from Legacy Reentry Foundation joined us for worship this morning. Today's message focused on the importance of spiritual defense, emphasizing the Shield of Faith and the Helmet of Salvation. These tools protect us from life's challenges and the enemy's attacks. Faith acts as a shield against temptations, while salvation guards our minds, ensuring our thoughts align with God's will. Practical steps include daily meditation, prayer, and trusting in God's continuous protection.
In this week's message, Pastor Santiago focused on the Armor of God from Ephesians 6, emphasizing the need for spiritual readiness in facing life's battles. Key points included the Belt of Truth, which anchors us in God's unchanging Word, and the Breastplate of Righteousness, which protects our hearts by living out Christ's righteousness. The Gospel of Peace was highlighted as the foundation for stability and readiness to share God's love. Reflect on how each piece of the Armor of God applies to your life and stand firm in faith.
Pastor Santiago continues our series on the Armor of God, found in Ephesians 6. In a world filled with uncertainties and spiritual battles, Ephesians 6 provides a roadmap to spiritual readiness. By understanding our enemy, Satan, and equipping ourselves with the armor of God, we can withstand challenges. Key elements include the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the shoes of the gospel of peace. Reflect on your spiritual battles and commit to putting on the full armor of God each day to stand firm in your faith.
Pastor Dell started our series, "Body Armor", where we will take a look at the Armor of God over the next few weeks. Ephesians 6 teaches us about the spiritual battle we face and the importance of the Armor of God. Paul emphasizes that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil. The Armor of God includes the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Shoes of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit. Each piece is essential for our spiritual protection and victory. By understanding and applying these elements, we can stand firm against the enemy's schemes and live a life grounded in God's truth.
In the final part of our series on 'Church and Politics,'Pastor Dell explores 'Our Resolve' in faith. Reflecting on our commitment to Christ, we examine how to be people of peace, presence, and prayer. By promoting unity, engaging fully in relationships, and prioritizing prayer, we can navigate challenging times with a steadfast faith. Let's commit to these principles and trust in God's guidance.
In today's message, Pastor Dell explored the complex relationship between church and politics, emphasizing the theme of 'Our Resistance.' Key points included the role of government in God's plan, the tension between earthly and heavenly citizenship, and when civil disobedience is required. Christians are called to engage in the political process, reflect God's image, and stand firm in their faith, even in the face of cultural opposition. Practical applications and challenges were provided to help believers navigate these complexities in their daily lives
Christians are called to navigate the complexities of dual citizenship, being citizens of both heaven and earth. This duality requires us to surrender control to God, drawing strength from His presence, especially during life's challenges. Engaging with the political and cultural climate is essential, but our primary identity remains in Christ. We must recognize the flaws in human systems and focus on Jesus. As citizens of heaven, we are tasked with living out God's kingdom values on earth, standing against evil, and prioritizing our faith over political affiliations. Our ultimate allegiance is to God's kingdom, and we must let this guide our actions and decisions in our daily lives.
Pastor Dell started our new Sermon Series on the Church and Politics this week. He reminded us that we need to be aware of two things:
Pastor Dell walks through our Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan as to how we can make an impact in our communities to a transforming relationship with Christ.
Pastor Dell shared LGCC's new vision and mission, challenging us to become bridge builders and to pray for our church and communities.
Vision: LGCC is impacting communities by guiding people to a transforming relationship with Christ.
