The things God has made tell us about Him. Not enough to get us to heaven, but enough to prove to us He exists. The written Word He has given the world is enough for the heaven part. All one need do is read about Christ and obey the Gospel to be saved. But once saved, that person enters into the joy of delighting in God THROUGH all He has made. We move from worshipping the created, to delighting in our Creator.

It can be difficult to believe that God is for you when it seems like everything in life is against you. However, an old shepherd knew the good Shepherd in ways that proved God is always wise.

One of the sweet joys of any local church is the privilege of sending men and women to different places in the world in order to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. This has been the case for over 2000 years and the New Testament provides us an excellent model to follow.

The idea of delighting in God might feel foreign to you, unless you have read your Bible carefully. It seems that every page is urging us to make God our greatest treasure and to do so in a relationally honest kind of way. In Psalm 73, we read of a man who almost missed this point entirely. He almost spent his life trying to complain his way into heaven. God would have none of that. And praise Him for it!

It is all fine and good to talk about delighting in God. But what if in the midst of that we forget the simplest bits at the very foundation of the concept? We need to be sure that we have our baseline in place before we begin to reach for the heights.

Our world feels like it is divided now as much as ever. With so many things to disagree about, it is no wonder that many in our society find it hard to get along. In the midst of widespread disunity, the church of Christ is to be different. We are not to be marked by our differences, but by our mutual Love for Jesus, and our mutual Love for each other. Love is to be the great identifier of the people of God.

God is not, nor has He ever been, discontent. There has never been, nor will there ever be, a moment God grows bored, frustrated or unfulfilled. So the more we live our lives IN HIM, the more we will enjoy Him and be satisfied IN HIM every day. This is the secret that leads to true contentment, regardless of what life throws at us.
