Jesus joins Cleopas and his companion heading to Emmaus, who are talking about the disappearance of Jesus' body in the tomb. He reminds them of the Scriptures as they go down the road. Jesus stays the night with them and reveals himself to them during dinner. The travelers continue on to Jerusalem and spread the news that Jesus has been resurrected. Jesus then appears to the crowd, who are in disbelief. Everything written about Jesus has been fulfilled. He has suffered, died for our sins and is risen from the dead on the third day.
