Today's message is focused on the older brother of the prodigal son, and how his jealousy affected his relationship with his father. In much the same way, our jealousy will also affect the way we view ourselves, others and our relationship with our heavenly father.

Just as in the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Our Heavenly Father is waiting for your return back to Him. He's waiting with open arms so come back home.

God has a blueprint for each of our lives that is life giving and full of peace. But if we are not obedient to His calling, then the plan can become skewed. Jim challenges us this morning to make the point that you can't love Jesus unless you are willing to obey...He asks the question,

Throughout the whole Bible...God's heart is for relationship with us! God uses us to reach people and it needs to be a basic internal drive from within. We can't work it up within ourselves. The Holy Spirit provides the power to share (Acts 1:8). We need to have a spiritual work ethic! We earn the right to share the gospel by investing ourselves in people's lives. Be authentic (Romans 12:9) and God does the saving. Value unbelieving friends without becoming unbelieving. Disciple the new believers in your life or help them find someone to help them get going and keep them going. We owe it to the next generation!
