If you were to die tomorrow what would be said at the funeral? It’s a sobering thought - isn’t it? As we consider Paul’s last words to Timothy before he is executed, we get to see a man who has fought the fight, run the race and stood strong in the faith despite all that come before him. Paul knows that death is not the end. CS Lewis put it like this: “Now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

As we celebrate the baptisms of Carrie and Natalie we spend time reflecting on the reality that we all thirst for the answer to our deepest longings - career, sex, money, relationship. The woman at the well was no different. She was thirsty and she knew it but she didn't realise what she was thirsty for until she met Jesus. Listen to this message from John 4 and find out about the source of living water that will forever quench your thirst.

Is the Word of God preached in all its fullness or is there a desire to dilute Scripture? As you read 2 Timothy 4:1-5 and reflect on Sunday’s sermon, spend time praying for those in our church who preach and teach the Word of God. Pray for the Elders specifically as they seek to protect the church against false teaching and distortions of the Gospel. Spend time this week reflecting on how you can come prepared on Sundays ready to listen and respond to the preaching of the Word.

We spent time in 2 Timothy 3 this week, considering whether we are lovers of self or lovers of God? It was a challenging message because sin drives us to be lovers of self whilst we long to be lovers of God. “We must glorify most what is most glorious. We must love most what is most lovely. We must value supremely what is supremely valuable The only way out of thinking too much about our glory, loveliness, and value is to be captured by a vision of the glorious, lovely, supremely valuable God.” ‘Glory Hunger: God, the Gospel, and Our Quest for Something More.’ — JR Vassar Don’t be like the world who love self rather than God and AVOID those who would lead you away from Him. Rather FOLLOW those who love God and follow God’s Word closely in your life.

"Remind them of these things..." "Charge them before God..." As you read 2 Timothy 2:14-26 and reflect on Sunday’s sermon, feel the strength of Paul’s call to pay attention. REMEMBER… Who you are as a worker approved by God To handle correctly the Word of God To be a vessel that is honourable and ready for every good work To flee from unrighteousness and towards righteousness, faith, love and peace Spend time this week reflecting how the Gospel deals with our thirst for approval from others.

Paul writes to Timothy using the picture of a solider, an athlete, and a farmer as a way for him to live his life for Christ Do these things but don’t forget your purpose and don’t forget the promise of what is to come. Listen to the sermon to consider what that looks like in your everyday life.

The first two verses of 2 Timothy 2 give so much for us to consider as a church. Listen to the sermon and consider where you need to grow in Gospel Identity, Gospel Tenacity, Gospel Fluency and Gospel Legacy.

“All through history God has chosen and used nobodies, because their unusual dependence on Him make possible the unique display of His power and grace” – Oswald Chambers In the first chapter of 2 Timothy, we are to see how God uses normal people, people with fears and insecurities, and yet when they remember their identity in Him, they are to be used for the glory of God in the every day of life.

"God cannot give us joy and peace apart from himself because it is not there, there is no such thing" – CS Lewis. Josh Walsh leads us through Philippians 3 as we ask the question "WHAT NEXT?" In light of sending out ROOTED CHURCH we must reflect and press on into what God has next for Cornerstone Church Wirral.

As we send out 20 loved brothers and sisters to plant a new church, we were reminded that there is a battle going on in the world. Light verses Darkness. Life verses Death. Church planting is to step into that battle ground
