When David spares Saul life in the cave, God's people are reminded of what it means to be a man after God's own heart.

When Jesus says

In the desert of his discouragement, Jonathan is an oasis of encouragement to David.

Like David, we too can bring our questions to God, and in light of the sufficiency of His word, always find the answers we need.

As David rises by God's grace, Saul descends even deeper on the slippery slope of sin.

David's frantic pace in his flight from Saul reminds us that God often prepares His servants by putting the cross before the crown.

The Resurrection is the linchpin of the Christian faith. It should therefore be the linchpin of our faith, of our lives!

Paul's discussion about the gifts of tongues and prophecy reminds us that our goal in the gathering of God's people should not be "what can I get", but "how can I build up".

Every Sunday morning, God's people are called to gather. And as we do, we discipline ourselves to rightly hear the word of God as it is proclaimed to us.
