Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
– 1 Corinthians 16:13
When life is hard and it doesn’t make sense, take comfort, knowing God’s invisible (providential) hand is working in the background.
Trust God’s providence during uncertain times, knowing He acts for your good and His glory.
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
- Matthew 6:31-34 (NLT)
Without the Spirit, prayer is merely us talking to ourselves.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. – 1 Corinthians 2:10b-12
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
– Isaiah 6:5
Do not grieve/quench the Spirit of God.
Instead, make every effort to keep in step with the Spirit.
“Treasuring Jesus, do the next thing.”
