Our Response to God’s Steadfast Love and Faithfulness

When we stop fighting for closeness with God, sin slowly takes hold and leads our hearts away from Him. But in David’s story, we also see the mercy God offers to broken sinners who truly repent.

Five observations from a story that could have defined a man, but didn’t because of the grace of God:

1. Drift Begins Quietly – 2 Sam. 11:1

4. Repentance Seeks a Clean Heart – Psalm 51:1–12

The grace of God is greater than the failures that could define us when we truly repent and return to Him.

1. Keep TURNING to God in Prayer – Ps. 13:1, 22:1-2, 77:2-3

2. Bring your COMPLAINTS – Ps. 13:1-2, 10:1, 44:23-24

3. ASK Boldly for Help – Ps. 13:3-4, 22:11, 19-21, 79:8-9

4. Choose to TRUST God – Ps. 13:5-6, 31:14-16, 56:8-11

Use this pattern of lament from the Psalms to guide you as you trust God and pray through the difficulties in life.

When we forget who God is, our view of Him shrinks.

Intentional praise brings it back into focus.

While you wait on God, don’t settle for less than God.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
